Water hygiene and distribution system surveys to assess compliance with the requirements of HSE Publication L8 "The control of Legionella bacteria in water systems".
Water used for drinking purposes should be microbiologically and chemically safe for consumption, as well as aesthetically acceptable. Because water is a recycled commodity, variations in quality are unavoidable and the perceived suitability of the water consumed can also vary. The water will often be used for a variety of purposes including; making hot drinks, supplying drink vending machines, food preparation and as a cold drink, straight from the tap. Confirmation of its suitability for consumption is a vital part of a preventative maintenance programme and will provide added confidence for users. SB Environmental can investigate specific problems to identify the cause and hence a solution or if there is no perceived current issues, provide a routine sampling and analysis programme, tailored to individual requirements, to confirm ongoing suitability for human consumption. The investigation can consider the microbiological, chemical and physical nature of the water.
Many industrial processes require the use of significant amounts of water, be it for inclusion in the product, cooling, washing, or a multitude of other purposes. SB Environmental can provide a sampling and analysis programme to ensure that the required water quality is being attained. Any other related issues such as disposal requirements, health implications can also be addressed.
